Below are several image galleries of brain tissues and molecules we work with in the Section on Neuroendocrinology.
Developmental
This Gallery has several series of pictures which document changes in expression of specific genes during development. These pictures are radiochemical in situ hybridization images of sections of the rat brain through the pineal gland.
Daily Changes
This Gallery includes pictures of sections of the rat brain through the pineal gland which were obtained using radiochemical in situ hybridization methodology. Tissues were obtained at midday and midnight, and in some cases document striking daily changes in the expression of specific genes.
Molecular Changes
This Gallery includes images of the structure of arylalkylamine N-acetyltransferase, which were generated by the Section in collaboration with a team of NIDDK investigators led by Fred Dyda.
